Spring Semester 2022

Well spring semester has arrived at CSN. With it only been a week I am no short of work. IS101 is my class that so far has given me some work. It is a good thing I only take two classes a semester. Two classes is my limit as I do not want to overwhelm myself with school and work. My second class will also be a busy class as it seems I registered to an eight-week course, oops. Its ok though my job prepared me for this and my time management skills. This semester will definitely a semester where my time management skills will be tested.

Even though I will have a busy schedule in order to keep up with assignments, I am really looking forward towards the semester. I am looking forward to meeting new people. As for IS101 class, I am looking forward to expanding my computer and Microsoft Office skills. I am sure anything taken from this class will help me out in my future career. For now lets see what the spring semester brings.

  1. Meeting new people and expanding your computer and Microsoft Office skills are excellent things to look forward to :-)

You are off to a stellar start in IS101-3010, Spring 2022 by being the first student to reach 100% on Bonus Quiz 1 ^_^

Maintain this level of excellence and Mayra > time management!

  2. I know the feeling of having to manage time, and working a full time job and also coming to school can be very tiring and depleting, but like you said "I am sure anything taken from this class will help me out in my future career." Being able to have the lab with duo monitors and a professor that is willing to stay does help out a lot. You got this !

  5. Two classes is a great start for this semester. Afterwards if you feel that you can add more to your schedule, you should definitely challenge yourself and add a third or maybe even a fourth class in another semester.

  6. Working at all and going to school is a lot to juggle in general. I am taking 3 classes and the work load for the classes are not light. I am too excited to for this class. I know I will benefit from this course in my future personal and professional life.

  7. I've had to deal with full time work and part time school. It's hard, not going to lie, but I recommend taking three classes. Two hard, work loaded classes and one easy A class. That's what I did and during my easy A class I would be doing the homework for the other two classes. That way you are still getting more classes done, faster. But god speed!

  8. I think two classes is a great start to discover how to manage your time, without it being overwhelming. I also work and go to school taking four classes. It is hard not procrastinating or getting distracted, but I believe disciplining ourselves to priortize our time is very important in completing our goals in a timely manner.

  9. Was pretty much thinking the same thing...I had originally planned to take additional classes this semester, but I'm actually kind of glad I didn't. Balancing work and coursework definitely demands time management.

Also occasionally just outright not going to bed; I can tell I'm definitely starting to get too old for that. It hits harder than it did when I was 20, for sure.

  10. Ooo I do not miss working and going to school full-time. I'm grateful and blessed that my parents support me giving up work so that I can focus on school entirely. I remember my worst semester went something like this: wake up at 3am, go to work from 4am-1pm while using my 2 breaks and lunch hour to study/do homework, drive 30 minutes to school, barely get to class at 2, then I would have back-to-back classes until 9pm. I'd drive another 30 minutes home and barely have dinner and shower before sleeping 5 hours, maximum, before repeating the next day. Was terrible and incredibly toxic and I hope to never be in that position again.

  11. I totally understand what you mean Mayra, when you talked about time management being difficult when juggling academics and work. It's a good thing that you're working at a speed that works well with your daily schedule. Might as well take two classes that you know you are able to do well in and not add any additional stress in life.

  12. I can relate to you Mayra. I myself is taking more than one class: three total and they are all sixteen weeks. IS101 is most challenging for me because I have very little knowledge in MOS and digital literacy. However, I am optimistic about IS101. The other classes are more traditional. IS101 is more hands-on...which is great, because I get to practice while I learn.

  13. It is definitely a good thing to know your limit. I am only taking one class and struggling with it. I can't imagine having a few more classes. I am also looking to improve my computer skills.

  14. I feel the same way as you Mayra, felt like it came in with a ton of bricks (Canvas Bricks). Keep working hard, and let's make it a great spring semester.

  16. Two classes was also where I maxed out this semester too and I'm really glad I made that choice. Slow and steady always wins the race! Haha
